(Cardinal mini set is one of my all time favorites)

I really, really, really like the way this card came out. I think I found my 2015 Christmas design, lol.

Tips:

* Color Pencils are one of the easiest and most forgiving coloring tool especially when needing to do a LOT of coloring.

*to adhere ribbon to a card without puckering, just run a tape gun along the back and stick it down

* to make a card pop, use matting, double matting helps

with the wow factor

*chipboard stickers make great embellishments

* when making cards, try to make 2 or 3 of the same ones while you have the supplies out

* use white embossing powder for wanting your sentiments to pop, white ink just doesn't cut it

This is a tutorial that I have done at demostrations, kids parties!!

DYI GIFT BOWS

ITEMS NEEDED:

8.5x11 copier paper
paper trimmer
adhesive
stamp set
stamp block
color inks

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Using the stamps, block and ink, randomly stamp the image all over the paper

covering entire area to make your pattern paper background.

2. Cut your paper in strips using the paper trimmer as follows:

3 strips- 10 1/2 x 3/4"
3 strips- 9 1/2 x 3/4"
2 strips- 8 1/2 x 3/4"
1 strip- 3 1/2 x 3/4"

3. Loop one strip into a figure 8 and using adhesive, glue ends together

in the middle.

Do this for all strips except for the 3 1/2" one. You will make a loop with that piece.

4. Starting with the largest strips, start forming the base of the bow, gluing

each piece down on top of the other.

5. Then going to the next largest (9 1/2) and then the smaller 2 strips (8 1/2),

keep stacking the strips in top of each other until you form the bow, ending with the

3 1/2 loop in the very center.

6. OPTIONAL: To finish off the bow, punch out an 1 1/2" circle and stamp

a cute image or sentiment. Adhere to the top loop.

And here is the completed bow. With practice you can make this bow in less

that 5 min.

Misc. tips:

Using copier paper makes it easier to form figure 8 loops, so you want to use a light weight paper.
You can use magazine, newspapers and gift wrap to make your bows.
Instead of adhesive you can use a stapler to fasten loops together. Score tape is another favorite of mine, especially if the paper is heavier.

Here are two cards using the Vases. The first is paper piecing. So easy to stamp and cut for a cute look. The second was a little different. Instead of flowers, I used sequins pouring out of the pot.

Okay for this card, I went a different route. I thought with the holiday coming up, why not try to make Chuck's hunting outfit into camo and go with a patriotic theme. So here is the card I came up with...
I think the pattern paper helps portrait the Fourth of July theme.

Today's stamp set is Paper Doll Chuck. He's joined the rest of the MFP StampShop paper doll gang. However, today is not my day and due to circumstances beyond my control, I have no home phone, cable or internet, and have no clue why. And have lost pictures for this hop. They were here now they are gone. I am really bumbed because I did a fun tutorial for the hop. I am still trying to upload my pictures but the little computer circle just keeps turning and then it goes to timed out. I am able to edit this post right now on my phone and will try again in the morning for the pictures. But the hop must go on...up next is Shirley. So long for now.

UPDATE!!!!

After 3 storm systems, 1 power outage and a call to the cable company,I have internet access again. The good news all my photos were saved in downloads and I didn't loose anything! So here is my project for the hop...

Easy Pencil Coloring for Paper Dolls

You need your stamp- Chuck, a larger glass block, a good ink that doesn't smear with coloring and the secret tool...a mouse pad to stamp on!

The mouse pad will help you get a crisper imaged and define all the little details.

To color, I like to use Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol (OMS) and paper stub. I started out using Crayola pencils, baby oil and q-tip way back when I was interested in using pencils.

You want 3 colors, light, med and dark. My go to colors are Lite Peach, Peach And Burnt Umber.

Color with light peach first, you don't have to be neat.

Outline the whole image (all the lines) with the peach.

Using the Gamsol, blend the light peach and peach. Next outline all the places you think there would be a shadow with the burnt umber.

Blend the last color with the Gamsol, color in the hair (I just used Burst Umber again) and there you go... Chuck in his tidy whities!!!!
