Sunday Blessings

Welcome to my hosted meme. I decided a while ago to give
God all the glory on this journey called my life. One way that I do this,
is to thank him for the blessings that he has given me. And since Sunday
is the day of rest and worship, what better day is there to have Sunday
Blessings. So I invite you all to join me in this weekly meme; and let us give
ourselves the fellowship and support as sisters in Christ, and God the
glory.

BLESSINGS:the act or words of a person who blesses.
a
 special favor, mercy, or benefit:
the blessings of liberty.
a
favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing
happiness.
the
invoking of God's favor upon a person:
The son wasdenied his father's blessing.
praise;
 devotion; worship, especially
grace said before ameal: The children took turns reciting the blessing.

My Sunday Blessing this week is my co-workers. I have been ill this past week and had to call off for three days to get better. These girls picked up all the slack, making appointments and seeing my patients. I had forty visits at the beginning of the week; but when I went back to work, I only had ten to cover. They could have easily wrote missed visits, and I would have had to make them up at a later time but they didn't. I was really touched.
God really has blessed with the great bunch if girls I work with!

Sunday Blessings is just that... What are you blessed by this Sunday?  Did God do something wonderful for you this past week that you would like to share? Your blessing just may encourage another sister in Christ. I believe we are more blessed that we will ever know.  To me, feeling blessed is feeling that I have received something good that I don't deserve and feeling thankful is the gratitude I have for receiving the blessings.

Sunday Blessings Meme- My Church Family

BLESSINGS:the act or words of a person who blesses.

This week I am blessed by my church family. They are a wonderful group of people that I have surround myself with.  They speak words of edification and love always even in situations that are not good in my life.  There is no condemnation from them.  They are a giving body in the community and reach their hands outward throughout the world. Now a days your hear about how unloving, uncaring, hypocritical etc the "church" is but that is just a lie from satan.   The church is alive and strong, true believers know how to show the love of Christ.  Why should a couple of rotten apples ruin the basket?  We have a brain, we need to use it.  It is time to stop painting all churches and Christians with the same brush.

God even says,  "So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth".  Rev 3:16  He also says, When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Lord, open the door for us!' But he will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from.' Then you will say, 'But we ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets. And he will reply, 'I tell you, I don't know you or where you come from. Get away from me, all you who do evil.' Luke 13:25-27

All that call themselves "Christian" are not.  To be a Christian is to have Jesus as Lord and Savior over your life.  He accepts us with all our sins and imperfections.  We are not made righteous in our power but through His blood.  That shed blood for us has open the door, torn the veil and has brought us in right standing in God.

8-10-12  I thought it would be fun it set this up as a meme.  I enjoy doing them, they are a fun tool to help you figure out what to write about on your blog.  I signed up for Linky so lets see if this works... Just click on Mister Linky, put in your name and blog post. I am hoping for 5 bloggers to join in my the end of the month.

Live Church Broadcasts

I wanted to let you know that my church is now running a live broadcast of Sunday Service, including praise and worship and alter call. I was home with a sick child last week and this was great to watch on the computer. My church is Assembly of God, five fold ministry, just so you know :)

If your church has a live cast, please post it here. That way if any of us are home sick, home bound, etc., we can still worship :)

Here is the link: Highway Tabernacle Service (Pastor Moore, time: 10:00 am est, place: Austintown, Ohio)

(there are past messages too)

One Year Bible

I am soooo behind...... in posting this, lol. You thought I was going to say in my weekly reading, didn't you?!?! Well, I am, by three days now. Life never seems to slow down around here. It seems like it is on one speed... accelerated!!!!

The Word is manna to our spirit man. We can't live without it. If we do, then we are malnourished in our daily walk. I have been guilty this passed week of saying, "I'll make up for it tomorrow".

I want to encourage you, and me, to keep striving this week to keep our time in the word. We'll thank ourselves for it later!

One Year Bible

So how is everyone doing? Were you able to get all the readings in this week? I'm a day behind. I was three days behind because I started three days later than everyone else. Everyone got their Bible's Sunday, I got mine Wednesday. I know I'll catch up, but to me, it's not a race. It's a daily journey.

For Sunday night service and bible studies, our pastor is going to preach on something that we read. Tonight, he preached on Psalm 9:1-2

1 I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonders.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

He pulled out the key word... WILL. This is an action on our part.
The four points... I will PRAISE, I will TELL, I will BE GLAD/REJOICE, I will SING.

Keep up the good work you are doing in meditating on the Word. If you haven't, that's okay, tomorrow is a fresh new day.

Reading the Bible in a year

Our church is reading the Bible this year! Not that we don't read the Bible, lol. But for 2010, we are corporately reading the Bible together. I am so excited to be a part of this. For me, I need the accountability, kwim?

How many times to we promise ourselves that we are going to do A,B,C? We are gun-ho at first and then the passion fizzles. Not this year, not this time! For the first time in (blank) years, I'm gonna read the whole Bible in a year. But not only read it, soak it in too.

Will this get me into heaven, will God be more happy with me, do I get brownie points for this? No, no, no. Jesus is the only way to heaven. God loves me so much, He sent His son to die for me. I am righteous already in His sight through the blood of Jesus. This is a "Spiritual Commitment" for ME.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12

Every week, I'm going to blog about what God has shown me. If you are up for the challenge, please leave me a comment. That way we can be accountability partners and lift each other up in prayer.

You can join me at The One Year Bible Online to follow along. This is a wonderful site with articles, links, forum and much more.
I'm also going to post this week's readings (Sun to Sat) on my left sidebar.

Anchor Friday- New life through freedom and grace

Romans 6:14..."you live under the freedom of God’s grace."
It took me all these years to finally accept this. I thought I had to do it in my power. The mentality was it was my body, and I was responsible for what I did to it. It wasn't until I realized my body was "His Temple" that I accepted His freedom through grace. Through this freedom, I have a new life.

Freedom of being a slave to my body, to food, to pain, and to depression.

Galatians 5:1 It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

Romans 8:21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

Matthew 18:18 Truly I say to you, Whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Psalm 118:5 During times of trouble I called on the LORD. The LORD answered me [and] set me free [from all of them].

I encourage you to open the Bible and read the scriptures on freedom/ being free. Jesus doesn't want us bound by sin, depression, pain, etc. He desires for His children to be free. He already paid the price through His blood and death on the cross. We just have to accept this gift of love and give our life (all areas) to him. That is his will for our lives.

My Sunday Blessing this week is my hubby. Chris is always a blessing and wonderful; but this week, he has blessed me immensly. When you always have "something", you can start to take it for granted. My husband is always a blessing, and I take it for granted. My blessing in him is unconditional. You know it is a special blessing, when you don't deserve it.

This was a week where nothing seemed to be going right. Yesterday it kind of reached its peak, and my mood reflected it. My hubby could have got disgusted with me; and I would have deserved that, but nooo. He does 5 loads of laundry including sheets and curtains, feeds Emily her squash, complimented me on dinner, watched Kids Choice Awards with me and Jessica, and challenged me to a soccer face-off on WiiFit. I don't think I laughed so hard the whole week like I did last night.

His whole night revolved in making it as stress-free and happy as he could. He is my blessing.

(ps. I got the high score in advance soccer at 618. His comment, "Oh, its on now to be continued tomorrow night! LOL.)

My Sunday Blessing this week is my Bible study group. It is call Journey Group. Our church has a couple of them to get plugged into. Mine is a young couples/people group, mid twenty-thirty
somethings. Most of our kiddos are 5 and under. It is a wonderful group to get together with every other week.
Our church is quite large and to get to know anyone, you have to participate in groups, activites and such. I am truly blessed that hubby and I are plugged into such a great group of believers to fellowship with.

My Sunday Blessing this week is all of you. I have come to meet many wonderful blogland friends over the last year. I have met even more when I came to Blogger.

The internet is another tool that can be used to glorify the Lord, but it is also another way to meet, support and pray for others. I have found support through you gals that I never knew exsisted. Not only while facing this "giant" (my weight); but also through your prayers for me and my family, and the laughs and good sense of fun that many of you have.

So I thank you for being a blessing to me, and I thank God that I have found you, my friends.

Sunday Blessings

I hope everyone is having a Blessed Sunday. I had a very restful day with the family. Sam is starting to talk, and it is funny watching big sis give him an ABC lesson.

Hubby requested lasagna for dinner. As I was making dinner, I was blessed to open the fridge and see it full. With my parents coming back from Africa, all their stories and experiences are fresh in my mind. The people they ministered to don't have the luxury to pick and choose what they can eat.

Even with all the stress of these economic times and such here in the USA, I praise God that my family is able to eat. With a blessing like that, how can I complain?

Sunday Blessings

I pray everyone is having a great Sunday. I am very blessed today. My parents are back from their mission trip to Africa. I picked them up last night and they were both exhausted but safe and sound. Mom said she wanted a shower and then soak in the tub all night.

This morning she was sharing a small bit of the last two weeks. One thing that she said struck me as poignant. She said, "There was no beauty." The part of Africa they went to is war-torn, with burned out homes, darkness and dirt. There isn't beautiful homes, streets, people, sunsets, trees, mountains. These people live in a hopeless environment. But they were open, searching for hope. When the team came to their village, there was some sense of hope.

How do we take for granted? Even when I'm having a rotten day, there is always the hope of a better tomorrow.

But God is good! They had several opportunities to preach and hold revivals. Many came to Christ, demons where cast out, people where healed and the gospel was shared.

Please pray for and support our missionaries, our brother and sisters in Christ who live on the front lines. They are not only Christ's hands and feet but ours also. May God bless them greatly.
